Why use Soy Candles?

  • Safety
    Soy candles are non-toxic and biodegradable, and they burn at a lower temperature than paraffin wax, which can reduce indoor air pollutants. This can make them a healthier choice for people with allergies, asthma, or air quality sensitivities. Soy candles also produce up to 90% less soot than paraffin wax, which can be toxic and blacken walls, ceilings, and furniture.
  • Burning
    Soy candles burn longer and more evenly than paraffin wax, but they can be hard and brittle, so they may require a hotter wick to fully break down the molecules and release fragrance. Here are some tips for burning soy candles:
    • Trim the wick to 1/8–1/4 in before each use
    • Place the candle on a heat-resistant surface in a well-ventilated room away from drafts, vents, and ceiling fans
    • Don't leave the candle unattended, and don't touch it or move it while the wax is liquid
    • Extinguish the candle completely before leaving the room, and don't use water to do so
    • Keep the candle out of reach of children and pets, and don't place it near anything that could catch fire

    Natural soy wax doesn't contain harmful chemicals or toxins, and it holds fragrance well, but soy blend wax may be softer and melt in warm weather.
